Steve Heyer’s Journey from Georgia to National Football League


Classified as one of the top offensive tackle, Steve Heyer is an inspiration and an invigorating addition to the newest team of Oakland Raiders of NFL. Born in 1987 (January 16), he attended his high school in Snellville, Georgia and by the time he started playing in school team he was already six feet tall and weighs 200 lbs (145kgs). He did his graduation from Maryland College and majored in criminology and criminal justice. His immense body mass and skills easily let him be a part of college football team. In his college time, he played 50 games and due to his amazing performance by the end of the graduate year, he got selected in the Hula Bowl (2007).

Steve Heyer was honored as All-ACC Lineman in 2006 for his outstanding left tackle start in the field. He has no clue till then that he will be playing for National football Team one day. An opportunity knocks his door when he was offered to play with Washington Redskins in 2007. His motto was never to let down any opportunity so he grabs it thinking it may end up in better thing and so it did. His amazing talent and mind blowing performance made him popular at the start only. Many teams also offered him to be a part of their team; some of them are Arkansas, Georgia, Florida Ohio State, Clemson, Michigan, etc…

His professional career was started at definite terms when he was asked to compete against WFU. This match had become popular due to his performance. He posted a composite grade by scoring nine snaps even after calling for 2 penalties. American football being the most popular sport gained their righteous and golden addition when Stephon Heyer joined National Football League in 2011 (till present). It’s been continuous 5 years of serving as a NFL player and his career chart is increasing incredible higher due to his immense passion towards the American football sport. From Maryland to Oakland Raiders, he grows not only as an experienced player but as a talented person as well. He has played almost 65 games after joining NFL and started 35 games as an offensive tackle. His journey from Georgia to Oakland Raiders is quite impressive. He is been an inspiration to lots of people from small place who have big dreams and are willing to test their guts to achieve their goals.
